CPCA Goes Virtual
and Restructures Workforce amid
COVID-19

While the California Primary Care Association (CPCA) is no stranger to responding to crises, such as the most recent devastating wildfires, the arrival of COVID-19 raised our emergency response efforts to another level, resulting in the need to transition our entire staff to be a virtual workforce. We also determined that a reorganization of our work was necessary to best meet the needs of our members.

COVID-19 Focused Training & Technical Assistance

COVID-19 dealt the health care delivery system an unexpected and swift blow; a mandate to care for incredibly sick patients without immediate access to financial resources, needed safety equipment, and unknown treatments. Despite CPCA going 100% virtual a full week before Governor Newsom gave the March 19 Stay At Home Order, CPCA staff quickly began reaching out to members to identify where the most significant concerns and knowledge gaps existed – and then we got to work.

CPCA Navigates 2020 Census Environment

The 2020 Census is well underway. As of Wednesday June 24th, 62.8 % of California households have self-responded to the Census. It is vital that all Californians are counted this Census 2020 as Census data will decide how billions of federal dollars are allocated for California schools, infrastructure, health services, child care, emergency services and many other programs. In addition, Census data will determine the number of California’s Congressional members and Electoral College votes.
