“A New Day Dawns” for CPCA Events

In navigating the challenges of COVID-19, CPCA has had to look at new ways to be able to continue to offer the most up-to-date educational content and valuable networking opportunities to our members, while also prioritizing the health and safety of our attendees, staff and exhibitors.

As a result of these concerns and Center for Disease Control recommendations, CPCA made the decision to move the 2020 Billing Managers/CFO Conference, which was scheduled for early May, to August 17-21 and offer it as a virtual conference instead of in-person. Similarly, given we can’t predict what the status of the virus will look like in the Fall, CPCA’s 2020 Annual Conference, which offers a wide range of content and draws attendees from all levels of a health center organization, will be offered on a virtual platform on October 15-16, 2020.

As they will be our first ever VIRTUAL conferences, we are, in a certain sense, re-inventing the wheel as we plan these events, which opens up so many new and exciting possibilities as we look at how to best deliver these educational and networking experiences. No longer tied down to a physical location and eliminating the need for travel, we are able to plan our conference activities based on what will best work for our members, who may also have family responsibilities to tend to throughout the timespan of the conferences. The content will be delivered through both live webinar sessions and on-demand webcast sessions, providing flexibility with the conference schedule and making it easy to learn and network from anywhere.

As always, our sponsors and exhibitors, who are valued supporters of CPCA and are always an integral part of our conference experience, will be incorporated into our virtual events in a variety of ways. Both conferences will feature a virtual tradeshow, where attendees will still have the opportunity to network “face-to-face” in a chatroom with our sponsors and exhibitors! And you won’t have to miss out on exhibitor prize drawings either, as we plan to have a gamification aspect of our tradeshow, so that attendees will still have the opportunity to visit with all of our exhibitors and have a chance to win great prizes.

Just as we have done over the past few months as an organization, as we have made the transition to become an all-virtual organization and have restructured how we tackle our work, in planning these conferences, we have the chance to reinvent ourselves and the experiences that we provide to our members. We are excited to connect and engage with our conference attendees in this new virtual environment and we hope to see you all there.
