Yes on Prop 35

This year, CPCA is at the forefront of the fight to protect funding for our health care system on November 5th – Election Day. In partnership with a coalition of health care providers, physicians, Planned Parenthood, health plans, and emergency responders, we have placed Proposition 35 on the November ballot. This will permanently expand Medi-Cal funding. Proposition 35 will address our most urgent health care priorities by securing dedicated, ongoing funding to protect and expand patient access to care at community health centers (CHCs). This initiative will focus on increasing primary and specialty care appointment availability for your patients.

Proposition 35 aims to safeguard and expand patient access to care at CHCs. By extending an existing tax on health insurance companies – without raising taxes on individuals – Prop 35 will secure ongoing revenue dedicated to health care. This measure ensures that funds cannot be diverted for non-health care purposes, providing a stable financial foundation for the future.

1. Secure Ongoing Revenue: Prop 35 will generate continuous funding by extending the existing tax on health insurance companies, directing these funds to protect and expand access to care for all Californians. This initiative guarantees that the most underserved among us have equitable access to health care and can secure timely appointments with doctors and specialists.

2. Community Health Improvement: By supporting Prop 35, we can enhance patient care, strengthen our health care workforce, and improve the overall health and well-being of our communities. The measure aligns with our commitment to providing comprehensive, accessible, and affordable health care services.

3. Protecting Health Care Access: Prop 35 will prevent the state from redirecting health care funds for other purposes, ensuring that resources remain dedicated to improving access to medical services for all Californians.

Prop 35 aligns with our mission to provide comprehensive, accessible, and affordable health care services to the communities we serve. By supporting Prop 35, we help ensure that our patients receive the high-quality care they need.

Prop 35 is a critical measure that will stabilize and enhance California’s health care system, ensuring that all residents, especially the most vulnerable, have access to necessary medical care. By supporting this proposition, we can make a significant impact on the health and well-being of our communities.
