CPCA Welcomes New Staff


Kokaale Amissah-Aidoo


Kokaale joined CPCA in August as the Associate Director of Education and Training. In this position, Kokaale leads all in-person trainings and manages the content and all speakers for CPCA boutique events – which includes the Quality Care Conference, Billing Managers Conference, Chief Financial Officers Conference, and the Region IX Clinical Excellence Conference. Kokaale is a bilingual project management and training professional with a background of working with and for community-based organizations and is well positioned to support CPCA’s mission. In her past positions, she has planned events including securing speakers, managing budgets, managing complex schedules, and delivering on deadline for Hesperian Health Guides in Berkeley. Kokaale is currently working toward a Master’s degree from Amberton University in Training in Development and has a BA in political science from Amherst College.


Sonja Spowart


Sonja Spowart joined CPCA in October as the Chief Financial Officer. In this position, Sonja will build on CPCA’s strong foundation, drive our continued growth, and help to position us to take on additional innovative ventures to support our member health centers. Sonja serves as a key member of the executive team, leading and overseeing the financial, human resource, and operation functions of the association. She is responsible for the strategic leadership of the finance and accounting functions, drives a robust financial planning and analysis to provide real-time insights to the CSO and CEO in formulating CPCA’s future strategies. Sonja brings many years of financial oversite experience in private, public and nonprofit organizations. She is a CPA and has degrees in accounting from the University of South Africa and the University of Witwatersrand.
