CPCA Welcomes Additions to the Team!


Lindsey Freitas, Vice President of Civic Engagement and Community Affairs

In her role as Vice President of Civic Engagement and Community Affairs, Lindsey will lead the development and implementation of CPCA’s community health center (CHC) civic engagement program to educate and empower CHCs and diverse communities to become civically engaged to improve the public health and wellbeing. Lindsey will establish strategic partnerships with CHCs and community-based organizations, mobilize grassroots efforts in support of the organization’s policy priorities, lead non-partisan Get Out The Vote campaigns and CPCA’s engagement in ballot initiative campaigns. Lindsey will serve as the lead for CPCA external public affairs work, support CPCA’s government relations priorities, and lead strategic initiatives for the organization. Lindsey will also oversee a new grant-funded team that will provide both statewide and regional support for our civic engagement work as we look to expand statewide.


Karla Mercado Dorado, Government Affairs Fellow

Karla is a rising senior at Marymount University pursuing a B.S. in Biochemistry with a Pre-Medicine minor. She is the current president of Saints Unafraid, which is the immigrant rights advocacy club at Marymount, and in her spare time, Karla volunteers as an interpreter at a local free clinic. Ultimately, Karla would like to embark on a career path that allows her to support medically underserved communities and expand accessibility to quality healthcare for all who need it.


Narod Berberian, Health Center Operations Intern

Narod Berberian currently attends the University of California, Berkeley as a Psychology major. Narod is deeply committed to advocating for awareness for individuals living with neurodegenerative disorders and hopes to develop novel treatments for them in the future. With experience in research data analysis and a solid foundation in neuroscience through coursework, Narod aims to be a valuable asset to the healthcare community.


 

Medea Sanabria, Health Access and Quality Intern

Medea Sanabria is a rising senior at Suffolk University. Double majoring in Spanish and Psychology, Medea is currently enrolled in Suffolk’s Honors Program. Having worked four summers at a youth recreational camp engaging with children and fellow staff members of diverse backgrounds and cultural contexts, Medea gained added awareness and consciousness about various perspectives and gained a better understanding of the complexities of working in a multidimensional workplace.
