Connected Communities and Connecting Each Other

When we launched Connected Communities in the fall of 2019, we knew it would be a valuable resource to support our members, but when our world changed in March 2020, it quickly became one of our most valuable assets. The earliest COVID related post was shared on February 28, 2020.  Since then, we have moderated discussions, connected members to expertise, and created an entire library of resources to support over 9,000 active members in the All Member Community Forum.

As we reflected upon the 1-year anniversary of the shut down in our state in March, it became obvious to us that it was becoming difficult to separate the normal day-to-day clinic operations and challenges from COVID related issues. In response, we created the COVID-19 Community Forum which debut on March 2, 2021.

CPCA staff worked to identify all COVID related discussions, questions, and resources and migrated all of this data into the new COVID-19 Community Forum. Aside from the content, there is one other element that differentiates these two communities. The All Member Forum is a resource only available to CPCA member health center staff. This is a member benefit to discuss all things related to health center operations (with the exception of COVID-19). The COVID-19 Community Forum is also available to all CPCA members, but not exclusively to members. Other associations, partners, PCA’s and consultants can participate in the COVID forum, recognizing we only grow stronger when we combine our expertise and resources.

The COVID-19 Community Forum now boasts 294 unique discussion threads, 387 library resources including access to past trainings, information of financial opportunities, forms and templates, and statewide data.

We encourage our members and their staff to turn to the CPCA Connected Communities site as your first resource for information for any matters that impact our clinics. If you haven’t explored this resource, we have several resources to help get you started. You can view our member demonstration and even learn about how this resource is available through a mobile app so you can access the information you need in a way that’s most convenient to you.

Connected Communities is a service of Higher Logic who has connected more than 50 million like-minded users to take the idea of peer learning and problem-solving to a new level and connects you to people in ways that are meaningful.
